Customer service is at the heart of great retail selling

As an independent retailer, you must believe down deep in your soul that great selling is great customer service. Great selling is not pushy or sleazy or annoying or deceitful. Great selling is engaging with your customers in a real and authentic way and helping them get the best result.

The perfect purchase puts the customer’s needs first

The best way to sell as a retailer is called the perfect purchase. That’s the term to describe the wonderful thing that happens when your customer buys what’s just right for them. It’s not about you making a perfect sale; it’s about your customer making the perfect purchase. You sell, they purchase.

When you embrace the perfect purchase mindset, selling becomes incredibly fun and enjoyable for both you and your customer.
