We loved surprising our Max Retail sellers with a $1,000 AMEX gift card and learning their Max Retail strategies. We’re sharing their tips and tricks with you!
Nearly 50% of Max Retail sellers participated in our June Listing Contest, which meant they listed $3,000 or more of aged inventory in the month.
The results were astounding — the average payout for a seller who listed $3,000 or more in the month of June was $1,860! It goes to show that the more you list, the more you sell.
Three of these sellers won a $1,000 AMEX gift card.
We didn’t just notify the retailers, I surprised two of them in-store and one on zoom!
I took the opportunity to learn about their strategies and experiences on Max Retail:
How do you know when it is time to list inventory on Max Retail?
“I was always taught to watch turn and sell-through. If you watch those two things and take care of your customers, there’s no way you can’t win.”
– Max Retail’s Contest Winner in Florida, Contemporary Apparel Retailer
Her strategy is to watch inventory turn and sell-through closely. When an item is not performing, she takes action instead of allowing it to continue sitting in her store. If you need help running an aged inventory report from your POS, we can help!
Why do you use Max Retail for your aged inventory?
“You guys fill a need that nobody else does. The platform runs like a machine. It’s very easy to use.”
– Max Retail’s Contest Winner in Texas, Footwear Retailer
She previously cross-listed aged inventory across several online channels. However, managing the same inventory in multiple places led to cancellations, errors and additional work. Now, once inventory has aged and is no longer moving through her other channels, she removes it from those channels and lists it exclusively on Max Retail.
How easy is it to list and manage inventory on Max Retail?
“The owner decides what she wants to list, then it’s tagged in Shopify, and we ship out the orders as they come in.”
– Max Retail’s Contest Winner in New York, Contemporary Apparel Retailer
For her team, listing on Max Retail is simply a consistent part of their markdown strategy and everyone knows the part they play. We’re happy to train more of your staff, too!
Market is coming up! How does Max Retail help you manage the risk of buying inventory?
“As a retailer, you get anxious. You’re like, ‘What am I going to do with all this stuff that’s not selling?’ To know that you have that opportunity to still help your wallet, you can buy a little bit more confidently.”
– Max Retail’s Contest Winner in Florida, Contemporary Apparel Retailer
Knowing she has a strategy for inventory that does not sell gives her more confidence when buying new merchandise for her store. Remember at Market that Max Retail is your parachute plan.
We’re kicking off another listing contest this month! Stay tuned to hear what the prize will be… and let’s clear out that spring/summer merchandise and make room for fall together.
All my best,Melodie & The Max Retail Team
