COMMON QUESTIONS
Answers to the things everyone asks.
What does the 15% cover?
Everything. Max Retail’s 15% fee covers buyer acquisition, listing creation, product photography, customer service, payment processing, fraud protection, and returns handling. There are no add-ons, setup fees, or hidden costs — 15% is all-in.
How is my payout calculated?
You keep 85% of the wholesale cost you list on Max Retail, plus a standard shipping rate per order. That’s significantly more than you’ll recover through any liquidation channel or jobber — and a much faster, easier way to move inventory efficiently.
What if nothing sells?
You pay nothing. Max Retail is 100% performance-based — if we don’t sell it, you don’t owe us a dime. Our goal is always to sell your inventory, and we keep working for you until it moves.
When exactly do I get paid?
You get paid as soon as the shipping label is scanned. Funds are deposited directly into your account through Stripe — no waiting, no net-30 terms, no chasing invoices
How much is shipping?
How much do retailers typically make per year on Max Retail?
On average, retailers on Max Retail receive $38,400 in payouts each year, which improves cash flow and frees up space for new inventory. Larger enterprise sellers earn over $250,000 annually on average, depending on the amount of inventory listed.
Is there a minimum inventory requirement?
No minimum. You can list a single unit or thousands — there’s no inventory threshold to join. That said, we typically see the best results from sellers who list 30 or more styles, so start wherever makes sense and scale from there.
What type of inventory should I list?
Max Retail works best for slow-moving, aged, or excess boutique inventory — brands and styles that didn’t sell through at full price. Think end-of-season carryover, overstock, or cancelled orders from recognizable designer and contemporary labels.
Do I have to deal with returns?
No. All sales on Max Retail are final, so you ship once and you’re done — no restocking, no refund headaches, no buyer disputes. Our support team handles any customer issues on your behalf across every marketplace.
Do I need to sign a long-term contract?
No. There are no long-term contracts on Max Retail — you can pause or stop selling at any time. We want you on the platform because it’s working for you, not because you’re locked in.
